Australia’s first listed iron ore venture, Ham-, ersley Holdings, Ltd., made its debut on the stock exchange today amid high drama and a fever of excitement Stock exchanges bustled with frenzied activity and the nation watched the biggest and most widelyspread publie flotation in Australian company history through television and press media. Hamersley Holdings is the first company set up solely as an iron ore company and today’s flotation gave Australian shareholders a 10 per cent direct stake in the giant complex based on one of the world’s biggest deposits of Iron ore in the Hamersley ranges, 650 miles north-east of Perth.
