ADDRESS ON WOOL
Speaker Not Available
‘The general manager of the Wool Commission, Mr H. L. M. Peirse, will not be presenting a paper to the Lincoln College fanners’ conference on May 17 as planned because of essential meetings he must attend,” said the conference secretary (Mr A. T. G. McArthur). “Mr Peirse’s topic was The Wool Commission and Wool Price Fluctuations.’ ‘This subject will now be covered by Mr J. P. McFaul], an economist employed by the Meat and Wool Boards’ Economic Service,” said Mr McArthur. “Mr McFaull is also secretary of the wool study group which is to report shortly to the New Zealand Wool Board on wool-price fluctuations and what New Zealand can do about them.
“While welcoming Mr McFaull to the conference,” he said, “my committee will naturally be sorry that Mr Peirse cannot come. However, we understand that the unprecedented activity of the Wool Commission has made demands on Mr Peirse’s time which could not be predicted at the time our programme was planned.”
