CONFIDENCE IN TROOPS

Giap Presents Medal

CN.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright.) HONG KONG, May 8. North Vietnam’s top military leader yesterday expressed confidence that his forces were "now fully capable of defeating the United States imperialist aggressors no matterjhow many more troops they may send in and to whatever extent they may escalate their aggressive war.”

General Vo Nguyen Glap was presenting an award— Independence Order, Ist Class —conferred by the North Vietnamese National Assembly (Parliament) and Government on Hanoi's armed forces and people for their achievements in fighting American air raids.

General Glap, as quoted today by the (North) Vietnam News Agency, said the entire country would resolutely “carry the anti-United States fight for national salvation through to victory.”
