Man Dies In Fall

(N.Z. Press Association/ AUCKLAND, May 7. A man was killed when he fell over a 150-foot cliff in darkness at Stanmore Bay on Saturday night. He was Raymond Joseph Cornwall Brown, aged 47, a diesel mechanic, married, with two children, of Clyde street, Hamilton. Mr Brown and his family were visiting a bach owned by Mr' C. V. Steer, of Mount Eden, when the accident occurred. About 8 p.m. Mr Brown went out the back to throw some rubbish over the cliff and did not return. “We went out about 10 minutes later and found the rubbish container on top of the cliff,” said Mr Steer today. “I heard groaning coming from the rocks at the bottom of the drop.” Mr Brown was unconscious when found and died later on a launch which called to help.
