LOWER C.R.A. SALES
Wider Profit Base (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, April 19. Group sales pf Conzinc Riotinto of Australia, Ltd., declined from 62.1 m to. 59.4 m dollars in 1966, because of lower lead and zinc prices, the chairman (Sir Maurice Mawby) said today. But the group was no longer heavily reliant on these metals with their attendant price fluctuations, he added in a statement accompanying the annual report, because the company’s major investments in iron ore and aluminium were approaching maturity and were being further developed. Revenue from lead and zinc mining fell from 29.65 m to 24.46 m dollars in 1966, but this was partly offset by the first year’s iron ore sales of 3.7 m dollars, he said.
