STRUCK BY HOARDING

Woman, Girl Injured

A woman and a girl were injured when a section of hoarding around the Bank of New Zealand was blown across the footpath in Cathedral square yesterday morning.

Mrs M. Dwan, aged 50, of 441 Worcester street, was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital by a St. John ambulance. She was admitted with head injuries. Her condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory.

Miss J. Nelson, aged 11, of 15 Saltaire street, suffered minor injuries. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital and discharged. The hoarding collapsed in a 30-mlle-an-hour gust of wind about 9.30 a.m. Mrs Dwan and Miss Nelson were knocked down by the hoarding.
