Student Dinner For Tun Razak

The Deputy-Prime Minister of Malaysia (Tun Abdul Razak) should feel at home during the first functions of his visit to New Zealand on Sunday. There are about 250 Malaysian and Singapore students at the University of Canterbury and Lincoln College, and their Malayia-Singa-pore Students’ Association hopes all will go to the airport to welcome the visiting party, and also go to the Students’ Union at Ham in the evening for a welcoming dinner.

The meal, prepared by the students, Will have typical Malaysian dishes—with a good number of New Zealand ingredients. There will be beef and chicken curries, baked fish with a bean sauce, and a salad made from a variety of greens and a peanut dressing. The flags of Malaysia, Singapore and of the constituent states, and the Malaysian coat of • arms will be displayed. A speech of welcome will be given by Mr Lam Thoo Sang, and Tun Abdul Razak will reply.
