Crash Of DC8

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright)

NEW ORLEANS, March 30. A DCS jet airliner on a training flight crashed outside New Orleans early today after glancing off a hotel and ploughing into a row of houses. Two petrol stations and a number of houses were set on fire. The crew of the plane, of the Delta Air Lines, was all believed killed. The Federal Aeronautic Administration said there were six persons aboard the plane—a captain, four trainees, and an F.A.A. inspector. There was no word of survivors.
