CONTROL OF DISEASE
C.V.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) NEW YORK, March 26. A new vaccine that holds promise for controlling foot and mouth disease, the most contagious ailment among animals, is being tested by scientists of the Department of Agriculture, the “New York Times” reports. The trivalent vaccine has been found to give at least a six-month immunity to animals. This may be enough to head off raging epidemics that kill tens of thousands of cattle, sheep and pigs each year at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars.
