The New Zealand pacer, Vai Averil, was awarded first place on a disqualification in a 4000. dollar race at Roosevelt Raceway on Thursday night. Vai Averil, driven by R- Cormier. was placed first by the stewards after they found Loredo Hanover, first past the post, had caused interference to Lad Rainbow, the favourite. Loredo Hanover was placed last in the field of eight.
