Britannicus Sprints "The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. Britannicus, a visitor from Stratford, looked ready to test Mannix and Pacific Cross in the Great Northern Champagne Stakes when he ran half a mile in 49 3-ssec at Takanini on Thursday. He was ridden by R. J. Skelton. Prince Petary (McDonald) galloped strongly to lead Largo (Skelton) after five furlongs in 84sec. Hillwood worked effortlessly in front of Synfiae (Steed) and Synteena (Wilson) over five furlongs In Imin Bsec. Hillwood has improved greatly since her fourth at Paeroa last Saturday. The fine colt, Mannis (J. Riorden), took 51 l-ssec for half a mile at Te Awamutu. Mannix looks ready to run a bold race.
