(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, March 16. A strong appeal to farmers to keep to established breeds and avoid introducing rams of a different breed was made by the chairman of the Wool Board (Mr Jack Acland) when he spoke to the electoral committee today. Where B-style wools were once the backbone of the clip, the Wool Commission now found it necessary to drop many lots down a grade for lack of character, hairiness, tenderness and mixed length, he said. Poorly-grown wool was often blamed on overstocking, but the economic service believed only a small percentage of farms were actually over-stocked, said Mr Acland. They attributed prevalent faults to other aspects of management and to breeding.
