Joint National Church Magazine

A joint national youth magazine will be produced by the five churches negotiating for church union in New Zealand.

The magazine will serve the youth of the Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist Congregational, and Church of Christ denominations. It will be a bi-monthly, and regular publication is planned to start in February of next year. A pilot issue will be published in August At present the Joint Youth Publications Board of the negotiating churches is advertising for an editor. He will be responsible to the board and will be paid £lOO a year honorarium.

The editor of "The Young Anglican,” the Rev. R. G. McCullough, said that the new publication was to replace all present youth magazines published by the five churches involved, and it was expected that these would go out of existence when regular publication was begun. The denominational magazines will also not be published in August when the pilot of the new venture will be produced. Mr McCullough said that the joint magazine would be “individual centred rather

than movement centred.” It would be a forum for the exchange of ideas, and incidentally keep readers informed on the youth activities of the churches.
