Wet Weather For Fete
Wet weather marred the grand opening fete at Marylands home on Saturday. Rain forced all events to be held indoors, in the laundry of the former Mt Magdala Home.
A sum of £l5OO was raised towards the building fund at the home. It is expected some of the money raised will purchase new furnishings for the home.
A spokesman for the organising committee said it was unfortunate that the 900 people who attended were not able to see the grounds of the home which had been specially prepared for the fete.
