LOCOMOTIVE DRIVERS

New Award Issued (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 10. Increases, retrospective to February 6, ranging from 15s 9d to £1 2s 4d a week in the minimum wage rates, are provided in a new Arbitration Court award for engine drivers, firemen and greasers. Drivers of locomotives, steam rollers, and workers required to hold first-class certificates as stationary engine drivers will receive £l7 18s a week.

Men employed substantially in charge of electrically-driv-en plants of more than 50 h.p. and internal, combustion engines over 20 h.p. also where a second class certificate for a stationary B engine is required, will receive £l7 ss.

Firemen, stokers, greasers, watchmen, guards and workers in charge of engines or boilers where no certificate is required will receive £l6 ss.
