These diseases are not caused by germs or viruses invading the body but are the result of mental and bodily tensions from which the sufferer can find no lasting relief and often no explanation. The cause lies primarily in emotional conflict resulting in a breakdown in communication between people in their personal life, affecting their body and mind. These unrelieved emotional nervous, muscular and hormonal tensions produce the stress diseases. In these lectures the speaker will outline a strategy for a three pronged attack upon the causes of nervous tension based upon physiological and psychological medical research and improved techniques for self understanding and communication which can be applied individually and collectively. A series of eight weekly illustrated lectures and demonstrations of tension reduction will commence at the Lady Wigram Hall, Red Cross Centre, Cashel Street, on 21st March, at 8 p.m.
