THIRD CHAIR IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES La Trobe University will ad mit its first students in March, 1967, in courses in the Schools of Humanities, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences. In order to complete the basic staff structure of the School of Biological Sciences, the University invites applications for the third chair in that School. Professor A. B. Wardrop, whose interests are tn cellular I ultrastructure, and Professor P. 1 A. Parsons, whose interests are ; In Genetics, have taken up 1 their appointments. In order to 1 provide balance, a scientist engaged in some aspect of the < zoology of entire organisms would most suitably complement the other activities planned for the School. It is hoped that the new professor will be able to take up his position during 1967. Prior to taking up appointment, however, it is planned to arrange consultation between the three professors in the School In order to discuss the broad planning of the courses to be offered in 1968. The salary for the position will be A 10.400 dollars per annum. Superannuation benefits will be available under the University’s own scheme or under a scheme based on F S.S.U. principals. Persons from overseas appointed to senior academic posts may be repatriated at the University’s expense if they wish to leave the service of the University after three years.
