Bomb-Scare Diversion
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, March- 9. A United States Navy Super Constellation was diverted to Ohakea last night after a telephone call warned of a bomb on board.
The plane, bound for Samoa from Christchurch with servicemen and scientists aboard had been airborne for 20 minutes when the call was made.
Nothing was found after two searches, one after landing and another this morning. The plane, with 60 passengers and crew, was due to leave at 9.45 today, but was delayed by engine trouble.
