Scots Name 17 For N.Z. Soccer Tour

Scotland has blended youth and experience in its soccer team to make a world tour, including the playing of two matches in New Zealand this year.

The team manager, Mr R. Brown, named 17 of the 18strong squad and hopes to name the other man today. “The player concerned has domestic matters to sort out but I should have his decision tomorrow,” Mr Brown said. “If he cannot tour, 1 shall use the week-end to make up my mind about a replacement.” Seven full internationals are included in the party and the others will be getting their first taste of soccer at international level. Five From Glasgow There are three players from Glasgow Rangers—J. Greig, R. McKinnon and W. Henderson—in the party, and two from Glasgow Celtic T Gemmell and W. Wallace. “We may have to do some i rethinking if Rangers and Celtic should get through to the finals of their European tournaments,” Mr Brown said. “At the moment we must select a strong, representative side for the tour.”
