CITY BUILDING SOLD
The Wiltshire building, on the comer of High and Tuam streets, has been bought by Dunford Publicity Studios, Ltd., from Kempthorne Prosser and Company’s New Zealand Drug Company, Ltd., and will be converted into a publicity centre.
The building is one of the oldest brick buildings in High street, but is well preserved. Engineers who inspected it found no sign of deterioration in foundation or walls.
Mr C. R. Dunford, manag-ing-director of Dunford Publicity Studios, Ltd., said that major alterations would be made to allow for the company’s requirements in sign work and printing. “But we have been working for 40 years rearranging and designing other people’s premises, so we expect to do something rather special for ourselves.” The company is the official promoter of High street for the High Street Businessmen’s Association, and this
influenced the decision to I move from the Latimer square building.
