Haast Road Flooded

(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Mar. 9.

Heavy flooding closed the Haast Pass road between Fox Glacier and Paringa today. The road was opened again this evening, but with rain still falling there is no guarantee that it will stay open overnight. The resident engineer of the Ministry of Works at Greymouth (Mr H. A. Grigg) said that vehicles were held up on either side of the flooding while Ministry of Works staff and machinery cleared the road at Havelocks creek and at Scotts creek, two miles south.
