(N.Z. Prest Association) WAIROA. The Northern galloper, Calm Comet, won the main event, the Wairoa Cup, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Wairoa Racing Club's meeting yesterday. In the second leg, Kiileymoon, confirmed his liking for the Te Kupenga circuit and just edged out Ta Vince, with Astral Blue, a solid favourite and off-course substitute, a nose away, third. The doubles dividend was £4O 19s. The betting on-course was £18,640, up £lO7B 10s on the third day in 1966. Investments with the Totaiisator Agency Board amounted to £78,267 (win and place £25,015 10s and double £53,251 10s). The off-course substitute was Astral Blue.
