Bibles Suit Decor

New hotels and motels opening in Christchurch can now have Gideon Bibles supplied to them in colours to suit their modern decorating schemes, according to a member of Gideon’s International, which distributes Bibles and New Testaments to a wide variety of people throughout 75 countries. Mr D. Laugesen, a member of the Christchurch Gideon centre, said his organisation now made Bibles available in red, grey, black, and blue to fit in with the decor of the rooms in which they would be placed. Since 1956, when It started work in New Zealand, the Gideon organisation has placed 21,915 Bibles in hotel rooms, gaols, and other places where people pass through, and has distributed 185,860 New Testaments. The work is supported financially by 175 business men.
