OFFER BY KOSYGIN

(N.Z.P. A. -Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 7. The Soviet Prime Minister, Mr Alexei Kosygin, today made Britain a sweeping offer of longterm co-operation in economic planning and technology.
He suggested to leading British industrialists that the two countries combine to develop certain areas of industry to meet each other’s needs and share scientific and technological knowledge to stimulate their economies. In a half-hour speech to the Confederation of British Industries, the Soviet leader said there was a real possibility of devising joint planning to boost mutual trade.
Two-day Visit—The West German Foreign Minister, Mr Willi Brandt, arrived in Washington last night on a two-day visit to confer with President Johnson and the Secretary of State, Mr Dean Busk, on European problems and nuclear policy.—Washington, February 8.
