(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 6. The Wool Board does not supervise or register claims for sheep shearing records, Mr W. D. Grace, the board’s publicity manager, said tonight. He was commenting on reports that Mr D. Holland, of Rata, had “bettered” the Wool Board’s sheep shearing record Mr Holland has claimed a record of 541 sheep in 81 hours.

The board could never acknowledge these records ■said Mr Grace. “Conditions vary so much and besides the board is interested in quality not speed.”
