There were surprising developments in the national women’s cricket tournament at Dunedin yesterday. Wellington and Auckland, which had outright, wins in the first round, were both on the receiving end of punishment and enter the final stages of their matches against Otago and Canterbury, respectively, in precarious positions.
Scoring was low in both matches and only one player, L. Stead (Canterbury), 32 not out, scored more than 30 runs. Scores:
