Opawa Power Off

Parts of the Opawa and Woolston districts were without electricity for almost three hours yesterday, from 5.37 a.m. The power failure was caused by a fault in a cable joint of an 11,000-volt cable between sub-stations in Randolph street and Mackenzi avenue. Premises affected were mainly in the area bounded by Ferry road. Ensors road and the Heathcote river. Power was restored to all users by 8.28 a.m.
