Understudy was tn sparkling form at Wanganui yesterday and she looks likely to race prominently at New Plymouth tomorrow. The two-year-old. Never Give In, which races at Awapuni. was another which impressed. Fast work was confined to the No. 1 grass, which was in good order.
Understudy (Lewis) worked over a round, sprinting keenly over the last three in 39 4-Ssep, the morning'a best for thia section.
Slippery Pat (Adcock), which looks particularly well, and Never Give In (O’Connor) had plenty in reserve at the end of a half-mite in SO 4-Ssec, the last three taking 37 4-5. Raley (Cleaver), which has been working keenly lately, was just ahead of Avro (Belsham), at the end of three furlongs in 39sec. Both are in good order for their Awapuni engagements.
