WELLINGTON, Dec. 20.’

Sample strikes of the five, 10, 20 and 50-cent coins and the commemorative dollar, have now been received and approved for production by the Royal Mint. The Under-Secretary of Finance (Mr Muldoon) said today that production had already commenced on the one-cent and two-cent coins and the first supplies had been shipped from England to New Zealand. “All the circulation coins will be on hand in plenty of time for distribution before the change,” he said.
