(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE.

Disappointing form by Australian tennis stars in the recent Victorian and South Australian championship finals is not expected to upset selectors of the Davis Cup team. Roche would play the doubles.

But during the last week: Newcombe has beaten both

Emerson and Stolle; Stolle, generally regarded as the No. 1 Australian, also lost to Emerson; Newcombe and Roche have lost to W. W. Bowery and O. K. Davidson, who are not in the cup team, and to Emerson and Stolle.
