SENIOR LECTURER IN PHYSIOLOGY The Department of Physiology has a senior staff of 8 Lecturers or Research Fellows; the appointee will be expected to take responsibility for a part of the teaching commitment in the Faculty of Science or the Faculty of Rural Science and to develop his own research interests within the Department. Applicants may have experience and qualifications in any field of Physiology. At present, the department has research interests in the following fields: General Physiology: Environmental Research and Teaching; Gastroenterology; Reproduction and Perinatal Research: General Blood Physiology; Haemoglobin studies. Commencing salary will be de. termined according to qualifications and experience within the range 6600 x 200-7600 dollars (Aust.). Other conditions include provision for travel and removal expenses, superannuation, assistance for buying or building a home and study leave. Study leave travel grants are available and credit may be granted for existing study leave entitlement. Applications close on January 31, 1967. 2. TEACHING FELLOW OR TUTOR IN FRENCH Applicants should have a good French accent, fluency in speaking French and a training in phonetics and should be graduates (or graduands) preferably, but not necessarily, of honours standard. The minimum qualification for a Teaching Fellow is an upper secondclass honours degree. A Tutor will be required to work 35 hours per week and a Teaching Fellow 12 hours per week assisting in the correction of proses and essays of internal and external students and of oral work recorded on tape. The appointee will also take part in the oral tuition of internal students and may be given some opportunity to lecture on French literature. A Teaching Fellow will be required to work towards a higher degree. Commencing salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience within the range: 3000 x 200-3800 dollars (Aust.). Provision is made for tutors to progress to the grade of Senior Tutor with a salary range of 4200 x 200-6000 dollars (Aust.). A contribution will be made towards travel and removal expenses; subsidised housing is available for married men. Applications close on January 6, 1967.
