Stock Of New Sire
Test Case, the top-ranking English two-year-old in 1960. is away to a promising start as a sire of first-season performers in New Zealand. From a handful of runners so far he has sired three winners of four races. Quezette has won two races in Melbourne, Ben Lomond won at Te Rapa last Friday, and Posh won the Nursery Handicap at Woodville yesterday. Posh was bred at Otaki by Mr and Mrs S. McGreal, who now live in Australia, and belongs to the famous “Fireside” family developed by the Wingatui veteran, D. P. Wilson.
Tilly Divine, the dam of Posh, is by Ruthless from Skewe, a half-sister by Super to Mr Wilson’s Auckland Cup winner, Frances. Ben Lomond, an attractive son of Jennifer Joy (Summer-time-Volifox) cost Mr E. Montgomery 2900gns at the national sales last January.
