N.Z.-Bred Wins

Gricula, a three-year-old half-brother to Kintyre, improved the magnificent record of horses from the J. B. Cummings stable with an easy win at Morphetville, South Australia, last Saturday. Gricula, which won the mile Limerick Handicap by four lengths, was the first of the stock of Agricola offered at the 1965 national sales. Acting for Mr V. Peters, of Melbourne, Cummings went to 3400gns for the colt. Agricola is the sire of two of South Australia’s best females, Te Parse and Farmer’s Daughter. Kirklea, the dam of Gricula, won nine races. She comes from a distinguished family from which other notable winners have been Milford, Glenlee. Glenkay, Royal Duty, Misprint and Llanmai.
