Work Started On Wharf
Work on another roll-on, roll-off wharf has now begun at Lyttelton. To be used for cargo vessels this one will be sited near the signal tower at the Western end of Gladstone Pier. Although the link span will be similar to the one on the inter-island wharf, it will be adaptable to suit vessels of varying sizes. Lyttelton Harbour Board employees have started driving piles.
