Workshop In Space

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright)

BOSTON, November 30.

America will send a primitive “workshop” space station housing six to nine men into orbit in 1968, says a Space Agency official.

Dr. George E. Mnerller. of the Hillston manned flight space centre, made the forecast at a panel session on space pros-

pects during the annual meeting of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

He said the space station will be "a sort of workshop,” will house six to nine men, will be made from rocket fuel tanks, will have 10,000 cubic feet of space and will stay up "for years,” using fresh crews perhaps as often as every 30 days.
