LEAGUE RULES

Praise For Changes

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND

The amended Rugby League rules which will come into force in New Zealand next May have proved a great success in England this season, the league secretary (Mr C. Mountford) said yesterday. He has received a letter from the secretary of the English Rugby League (Mr W. Fallowfield) who says the crowds are better this season than at any time since the 1950 s when league was most popular. The ball was getting plenty of air and the game was much more attractive. There had been far fewer players ordered off in England this season because the game was much faster with less bodycontact.
