SMALLER PANEL

Aust. Move Planned

fJV.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) MELBOURNE.

Drastic alterations in the method of selecting future Australian Olympic teams will be sought next month.

If the moves are successful they will be selected by a committee of nine members of the Australian Olympic Federation.

At present, the selection is done by the full A.0.F., a group of about 53 amateur sports officials. It is recommended that the executive meet two delegates from each sport to negotiate the size of each section. These will be determined by standards achieved in Australian trials and their relationship to prevailing world standards; achievements in international championships; and performance at previous Olympic Games.
