The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) will attend the Nationalist Club's annual Christmas party in Christchurch this afternoon. He will return to Wellington by air tonight
Mr P. L. Molineaux wa» sworn in as a Stipendian’ Magistrate by Mr E. A. Lie S.M., the senior Stipendiary Magistrate in Christchurch at -a private function. Mr Molineaux, who has been appointed the fifth Magistrate in Christchurch, will conduct his first Court sittings in Christchurch on Thursday. Mr S. C. Andrews has been appointed a life member of the Social Service Council of the Diocese of Christchurch. Mr Andrews was associated with the work of the council for more than 20 years. Professor W. D. Mclntyre (history) has been appointed Canterbury University representative on the advisory committee of the historical publications branch of the Department of Internal Affairs.
