HARD OF HEARING

New Buildings Planned

A games room and another classroom at its property in Victoria street, are planned by the Christchurch branch of the League for the Hard of Hearing. A teacher at the league (Mrs L. S. Birdling) said yesterday that the scheme depended on funds. The classroom would probably be added to the back of the present building facing Montreal street and the games room would be built above the new classroom and the present kitchen and cloakroom block. The addition of a games room would provide facilities for indoor bowls and table tennis and would be particularly useful for a growing membership of young people, said Mrs Birdling.

The league had about 400 members. Interior decoration of the hall and classroom would be done during the Christmas holidays.
