DANGERS OF SMOKING
Lessons In Schools
<N Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) PERTH, November 10. Primary schoolchildren in Perth will be given lessons on the dangers of smoking. The West Australian Education Department has directed teachers to give the lessons to children in middle and upper classes “as a matter of urgency.” Teachers who smoke have been asked to consider the example they are setting, but the Deputy Director-General of Education, Mr H. W. Dettman, emphasised that this was not a directive to teachers to stop smoking at school. They should use their discretion, he said.
