BACK FROM MALAYSIA

PALMERSTON N, Nov. 11 The R.N.Z.A.F.’s No. 14 Canberra Squadron returned to Ohakea today after more than two years service in Malaya. The squadron played a significant role in New Zealand's contribution to the forces defending Malaysia from attacks by Indonesian terrorists. In September, 1964, Squad-ron-Leader G. Wallingford took his squadron to an air exercise in Malaysia. The men of No. 14 Squadron expected to be overseas for a month, but the Canberra's stay in Malaysia was extended and in April, 1965 the posting became permanent.
