BULK STORE DEMOLISHED

A team from Ryan Bros., Ltd., folded Its tents and departed from Lyttelton shortly after 10 a.m. yesterday, after demolishing the ruins of the Lyttelton Harbour Board's burnt-out bulk store adjacent to the fishing wharf. Early on Wednesday morning the contractors launched their assaults with bulldozers and winch wires while a fleet of trucks dumped the spoil at Gollans Bay.. Pig farmers purchased the grain and peas remaining in the store after fire destroyed the building early in September.

A Lyttelton Harbour Board spokesman said there were no immediate plans for using the site.
