Mansion House Talks Resume

(N.Z. Press Association> AUCKLAND, Oct. 12. Negotiations for the preservation of Mansion House on Kawau Island have been renewed between the owner, Mr A. R. Horsfall, and the Government. The last discussions were in 1956 when an offer was made to the Government. Mr Horsfall, a New Plymouth businessman, said today he wanted to have the house and its immediate surroundings preserved on account of their historic significance. Mansion House was the home of Sir George Grey from 1862 to 1888.
