Holt Declines To Publish Report

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright> CANBERRA, Sept. 29. The Australian Prime Minister (Mr Holt) today refused to make public a security report on the mother of a 15-year-old schoolboy who refused to continue cadet training.

The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Calwell) had called on Mr Holt to table the report in the House of Representatives after he had quoted from it Mr Holt said the contents of the report were confidential. “I have quoted from it every matter that is relevant.” he said. “I am quite amenable to the Leader of the Opposition examining these documents •but it has never been the practice for communications

from the Security Service to be made public.” Mr Holt supported the allegation by the Minister for die Army (Mr J. M. Fraser) that the boy’s mother, Mrs A. M. Michaelis, was a committee member of the Association of International Co-operation and Disarmament, which was ! regarded as under Communist influence. The boy, Robert Michaelis, has left the Sydney Grammar School rather than wear the .school cadet uniform.
