NEW VENUE FOR GOLF

The Waimairi Beach course is to be the new venue of the Canterbury amateur golf championships at Labour week-end. The championships had been allocated to Templeton, but work on extensions to the watering system made it doubtful if the course , would be ready in time. Pipes being shipped from England were delayed by the British seamen's strike and are not expected to arrive at Lyttelton until early next month.
