10,000 At Sunday Trials (N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY. A crowd of more than 10,009 watched official two-year-old trials at Canterbury on Sunday. In Melbourne an estimated crowd of 12,000 attended trials at Flemington. In Sydney a fortnight ago 35,000 people watched trials at Randwick in Sydney and officials were disappointed at Sunday s attendance. Features of the trials were five wins In 15 heats by the leading Sydney trainer, T. Smith. Eight of the two-year-olds had won at the previous trials. Among the winners was the Smith-trained filly. Day Tripper (Agricola or Bourbon Prince— Sway), bred in New Zealand.
