Hawke Accepts Offer

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ADELAIDE. A leading Australian fast bowler, N. Hawke, has accepted an offer to play in Britain’s Lancashire professional cricket League from April to September next year. “It means I’ll be away all the next South Australian football season—which is probably a wise thing,” he said. Hawke dislocated his right shoulder playing for West Torrens in a league football match on April 30. At one stage he had a metal screw inserted in the shoulder to aid the healing. Hawke said he had been advised that he had passed a fitness test by two doctors and had been “okayed” to join the Australian team leaving for South Africa on October 15.
