THEFT OF FILM

The film “Gun Hawke,” valued at , £7OO, was stolen from outside the Vogue theatre in Spreydon last Tuesday night The theft was reported to the police on Friday. The film, which is the property of Universal Films, is in cans and weighs 801 b. It was addressed to the Coronation Theatre, Mosgiel. Fields Electrical Shop, 130 Ferry road, was broken into about 12.15 a.m. yesterday. A plate glass window in the front door was smashed. A tape recorder and a transistor radio of a total value of £7l 10s were stolen. The tape recorder has been recovered. A man has been arrested.

A car radio, valued at £35. and a travelling clock, valued at £2. were stolen from a car parked In Somerfield street on Saturday night. A transistor radio, valued at £24, and a camera, valued at £l5, were stolen from a car parked a short distance away in Studholme street the same night. A house in Garreg road was entered some time between August 28 and September 11 and £3 15s was stolen. Four youths have been interviewed by the police after a lamb was taken from property near the transmitting station of CHTV-? at Sugar Loaf hill. The lamb is the property of a Governor’s Bay resident. The sum of £3O was stolen from premises in Oxford terrace between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday.
