The 18-year old New Zealand Davis Cup player, B. Fairlie, has won the men's singles in the Budleigh Salterton tournament, Devonshire.

He beat R. Russell, of Jamaica, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, in the final after recovering from 1-3 in the third set.

In the men's doubles final, K. Woolcott and 0. Parun, of New Zealand, beat the Jamaican pair. Russell and L. Lumsden, 4-6, 6-2, 8-6.

Stadium Grant.—The Rothmans Sports Foundation will grant the Auckland Athletic Centre £5OO every year for the maintenance of the cinder track and equipment at Mount Smart.
