TV STUDIO SITE

200 Residents In Favour

Two hundred residents in the Opawa area where the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation wants to build television and radio studios have sent a petition to the City Council in favour of the application. The council was recently asked to approve the studios in Butler street, but deferred a decision. Its decision is expected at next month’s meeting of the council. The council’s town-planning committee reported in favour of the corporation’s application after discussing the hearing of objections from about 50 residents of the area.
